
Fenilbutazona is white or white - like crystalline powder. The melting point of 105.5 to 106.5 ℃. Soluble in acetone, chloroform or benzene, soluble in ethanol or ether, almost insoluble in water, soluble in sodium hydroxide solution. No smell, slightly bitter taste.
Fenilbutazona is synthesized from hydrogenated azobenzene and diethyl butylmalonate. Azobenzene hydride, diethyl butylmalonic acid, sodium methanate and sodium sulfite were heated together, reflux strongly for 1.5h, and then Fenilbutazona was produced in butazone sodium salt, and then Fenilbutazona was obtained by acetic acid acidification.
Fenilbutazona has antipyretic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic effects, mainly used for the treatment of rheumatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and gout.
